
🇲🇽 Pozole (Mexico)
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs pork shoulder
- 1 can hominy
- 6 cups broth
- Garlic, onion
- Red chili sauce
- Garnishes: cabbage, radish, lime
Instructions:
- Cook pork with garlic/onion until tender.
- Shred meat; return to pot.
- Add hominy and chili sauce.
- Simmer 30 minutes.
- Serve with fresh garnishes.
🇲🇽 Pozole (Budget Version)
Money-saving swaps:
- Use pork shoulder or even pork scraps (very affordable cuts)
- Buy canned hominy in bulk
- Substitute dried chilies with cheap chili powder + paprika
Tip: Bulk it up with extra cabbage—it’s one of the cheapest veggies.
